Okay - So I'm in!

In the blogging community I mean. Am I crazy - I can't even keep up to date with my Facebook Page so what chance with this "blog". This is a pretty exciting time of year - Well it is a very disorganized and hectic time - XMAS and New Year - they almost feel the same nowadays.

Family Time on Christmas eve (or should that be 24th December for none Christians?) - Seafood Chowder - A speciality of my wife Sharon's. Mum and Son around the table with us and presents at 10PM (why wait?)

Our house is very Christmassy (now Christmessy with discarded wrapping paper). I quite enjoy the wrapping part of presents - but it soon gets ripped off. I have seen people carefully open the present so as not to damage the paper - maybe they keep it for next year or re-gifting - It's usually Christmas Only designs so can't be used on other type of prezzies.

Anyway that's all behind us (in front of us and to the sides if you could see the paper strewn floor) and we settle in to kick back and wind down between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Not much on the Telly so we view DVD offerings, read (we both got books for presents) and listen to our favorite iTune Playlists (now isn't that a sign of the times). Also branched out a bit this year on visits to YouTube for various clips featuring Ricky Gervais. I did see his HBO Special and I am still awestruck by his comic genius.

I watched the Letterman Show clips, some tribute clips from the likes of Billy Connolly, David Baddiel, Chris Rock and Christopher Guest - amazing. Then I watched some touring with Ricky clips - they were a bit of an eye opener. The guy is hilariously funny but seems a little bit too zany at times. Just watch "Living with Ricky Gervais" any clip - and look at his interaction with Robin (seems like a nice bloke) Ince. Ricky is way over the top (or over the line). Still super entertainingly funny as a performer though - sheer brilliance.

Struck me that YouTube is full of great stuff but clogged and clouded by meaningless drivel as well. Bit like life? Great source of stuff for those occasions when someone says - Did you see **** on the telly the other day - I can now quickly go to YouTube and see what they are on about. Sport for example - those great Premiership goals that I now don't see 'coz I am in the US - well now I do.

Anyway - enough drivel from me - maybe I'm too laid back - should be getting charged up for New Years Eve - Big Party at our place. Great times for all but... Oh that prep and build up - luckily I don't worry - I leave that to Sharon. My "It'll be alright on the night" doesn't really give her the kind of support she needs at those sort of times. She is a trooper and I don't know what I did to deserve her - She is wonderful. I hear her calling now with some new challenge for me - GTG
